Preventing bubbles in signage and print applications is essential for project success. Nothing is more disheartening than creating a stunning, attention-grabbing piece of printed work only to see it ruined by unsightly bubbles during installation.
This can be highly frustrating for installers, but fortunately, there are many effective solutions available, particularly in the choice of media used by sign-makers and printers.
Drytac offers two types of bubble-free technologies within its broader range: Pattern Coated Adhesive and Air Egress Release Liner Technology. Both technologies aim to eliminate bubbles during application, but they achieve this in different ways.
First, the Dot Pattern Adhesive is used in all products within the Drytac SpotOn range. This technology integrates the bubble-free feature directly into the adhesive on each film.
The adhesive is applied in a dot pattern rather than a smooth or standard coating, allowing any air trapped during installation to escape through the negative spaces between the dots. This simplifies the installation process and prevents bubbles.
The Air Egress Release Liner, featured in several popular Drytac products such as Polar Grip Air, Polar Premium Air, and Polar Smooth 150 Air, incorporates bubble-free technology into the release liner.
This technology works by embedding micro-channel grooves into the release liner. When coated with adhesive and bonded to a face film, these grooves create channels that allow trapped air to escape, resulting in an easier, bubble-free installation.
Although these two technologies differ in their mechanisms, they both offer the same benefit: easier installation by eliminating bubbles. This is a significant advantage for users, as easy-to-apply graphics are highly desired by both installers and end users.
